Quarrying Needs : PASDEC gives machinery to miners

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Stone Development Company (PASDEC) on Wednesday handed over marble and granite machinery to mine owners of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) for promoting mechanised quarrying in the province. The said machinery has been funded by multi donor trust fund under competitive industries project for K-P. The objective of the project is to promote mechanised quarrying in the province and discourage the conventional methods of mining by blasting. Under the project, 13 sets of excavators and compressors were handed over to PASDEC by the K-P government for renting out to the mine owners of K-P. Chief Executive Officer, Zahid Maqsood Sheikh, announced that machines will be offered on a first come first serve basis to mine owners of the province.  He added that it is a golden opportunity to adopt latest techniques.
