KARACHI: An accountability court sent on Tuesday a suspected facilitator of Balochistan's finance secretary on transit remand till May 13.

Suhail Majid Shah, said to be a government contractor, was presented before the accountability court's administrative judge by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The country's top anti-graft watchdog officers told the judge that the suspect was caught on a lead given by the incarcerated finance secretary, Mushtaq Raisani, and has been involved in corruption worth billions of rupees. A large amount of cash, estimated to be around Rs730 million, was recovered from Raisani's residence in Quetta during a raid last week.

The bureaucrat is under NAB custody for interrogation and Shah will join him soon as he will be taken to Quetta for a proper remand, as the incident occurred there.
