In the dark: Power station remains damaged

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has failed to repair the damaged infrastructure of the Reshun Hydel Power Station, claimed locals of Reshun and Shogram areas of Chitral. The government has shown no concern for the people of Chitral. The Reshun hydel power station was damaged by the 2015 floods and the city has been plunged into darkness ever since. Nine months have passed and the government paid no heed to their needs, locals said. They added people are living in miserable conditions due to the lack of electricity. The government vowed to fix the power station, but in vain. They urged the government to resolve this issue before the arrival of Ramazan. The residents threatened to protest in the whole district if their demands were not met. Representatives of people from Reshun and Shogram held a convention and put forward their demands. It was attended by influential figures of the area.
