Mercedes for Governor Punjab?

LAHORE: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer sent a summary to the provincial government to release an amount of Rs25 million rupees to purchase a Mercedes Benz.

The summary was sent to the Chief Minister on November 9, 2009, but was rejected on the grounds that the province was suffering from financial problems.

In a shocking follow-up the summary has now been approved by the federal cabinet and the prime minister.

Additional chief secretary Sami Hameed and Finance Secretary Tariq Mehmood have further requested the chief minister to consider the request as a 'special case'. When contacted, the spokesman of the Governor House said that the current vehicle is not in a good condition which is why a demand fo the new car was made.

No funds have been released yet.

All these actions taken by government are basically inviting for the public revolt. Unfortunately it will be a chain reaction by the public against all the politician if common man problems are not solved. Live simply and if you want to live lavishly spend it from his own pocket, the public funds are for the public's welfare. If the caliph were asked questions by the general public why can’t we ask to the servants of nation.

Its time to rise, im asshamed when im asked by people what is happening in pakistan and im speecless. to be honest we have been blessed with an amazing country but the leaders are like a virus. these leaders have hollowed our foundation without us even knwin it. the actual industrialists have been driven out. it is just a shame that infront of us they are looting our motherland and i would call it RAPE........Only Allah can help us..... and people who say that shabaz sharif and others r good, then either they are just too dum or they r direct benificeries....so yeah we need an uprising and all these beuro and polis whould be thrown in jail... long live Pakistan

Ali Haider | 14 years ago | Reply What the hell is wrong? These elite are being fed on public money. They don't do anything for the country. Now this guy need a new Merc. I mean how foolish can we be? And I was not expecting the Prime Minister to approve this. It will be a sad day when hard earned money of poor public is spent on useless items like this. May Allah save Pakistan from its leaders. There is a lesson for public too. Think about who you are choosing. This is not the first time these people came to power and they were as corrupt when they were in power earlier.
