Formation of the committee proves the government is not isolating matters pertaining to the Panama Leaks

ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is holding meetings with party leaders to discuss the opposition’s letter regarding the Terms of Reference (ToRs) for the judicial commission, and to constitute a committee to negotiate the issue on the government’s behalf.

Panama leaks: Opposition invites government to settle probe terms

According to a statement from the PM House, “The meetings will take note of the current political situation of the country and discuss the formation of a high-level party committee to engage the opposition.” The committee is likely to be headed by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and will include senior members of the coalition.


Following consultations with the party stalwarts and coalition members, the mandate to be granted to the committee will be finalised. The government will also consult its legal team on responding to the opposition’s letter pertaining to the Panama leaks.

The formation of the committee is said to prove that the government is not isolating matters pertaining to the Panama Leaks.
