Blaze: Factory gutted in Korangi fire

KARACHI: A fire gutted a factory in Korangi Industrial Area on Friday. However, no loss of life was reported. The fire erupted at around 12:15pm in the factory’s basement. Following news of the fire, the fire brigade department dispatched fire tenders to the site. Flames quickly engulfed the entire multi-storey building. Nearly half a dozen workers were stuck in the factory but were rescued safely. A fire brigade spokesperson said that paint brushes were being manufactured at the factory and the fire caused a loss worth millions of rupees. The cause of the fire has yet to be ascertained, he said.
