PESHAWAR: The provincial apex committee discussed the return of the displaced people with special focus on law and order in the province and Fata. The implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) was also deliberated.

This was stated in a handout issued on Thursday. As per the document, the 45th meeting of the committee was held with Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra in chair.

About the implementation of NAP, the committee voiced their satisfaction on the progress and directed the officials concerned to take further steps in this regard.

It was decided that the closure of illegal SIMs being used for criminal activities will strictly be ensured.

Jhagra said militancy in any form will be eliminated and sacrifices given by the people will not go to waste, he added.

The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Peshawar Corps Commander Lieutenant General Hidayatur Rehman, Chief Secretary Amjad Ali Khan, IGP Nasir Durrani, Frontier Constabulary Commandant Liaqat Ali Khan and FATA Additional Chief Secretary Muhammad Aslam Kamboh, among others.
