The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Thursday seized nearly 23 maunds of unhealthy meat. Thirteen people were arrested and FIRs were registered against them in this regard.


The Data Ganj Bukhsh Town team seized 12 maunds of unwholesome beef and 11 maunds of substandard chicken from Tollinton Market. The meat was handed over to the Livestock Department to be destroyed.

Fatima Memorial Hospital’s canteen was sealed for using rotten fruits for juice. The canteen also lacked proper cleanliness arrangements.

The Gulberg Town team sealed Burger Corner in Gulberg’s Mini Market over poor hygiene. Freezers at the outlet were found to be dirty and drains uncovered.

Bashir Bakery and Iqbal Bakery in Ghari Shahu were sealed for using rotten eggs in their products. Workers at the bakeries could not produce medical certificates. Both units had washrooms in their production areas.
