A parliamentarian of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Muhammad Dilawar, announced his resignation from the Sindh Assembly and joined Mustafa Kamal’s Pak Sarzameen Party on Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference at Kamal’s residence in Defence, Dilawar, who was the party’s MPA from PS-110, said he was thankful to the former MQM nazim and his aides for accepting him into their party.
“Inquiries were conducted against me by the party although I have always worked sincerely for the martyrs of MQM,” he lamented.
Speaking at the occasion, Kamal said he was sad over the death [in Rangers custody] of MQM worker Aftab Ahmed. “I want to say to the establishment of the country to end this cycle of arrests and raids of MQM workers.”
Hitting at his former leader, Altaf Hussain, Kamal said the MQM chief does not care about the deaths or arrests of any of the party workers.
“Altaf Hussain should tell the public what he has been doing. He should accept his mistakes and faults as so many people have died because of him. He has destroyed this community.”
