Reports suggested Bokhari, who is a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and a practicing lawyer, allegedly slapped a policeman at city district court when the official tried to conduct a body search.
Bokhari was asked to stop for a body search as he arrived at the court, following which the former chairman Senate slapped and also threatened a constable.

Security has been tightened in the capital following terror threats. Several universities in the federal capital were cordoned on Wednesday following a security alert.

According to reports, the National University of Modern Languages (NUML), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Quaid-e-Azam University and Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) were on high alert.
Following the terror alert at the varsities, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar supervised security arrangements at the campuses.
“The interior minister visited Allama Iqbal University at 8:30am to supervise security measures,” a source said.
