Yda strike: Doctors attend patients in tents
The doctors closed the OPDs following an unpleasant incident on 7th April
QUETTA:
Striking doctors of the Young Doctors Association closed all OPDs of state-run hospitals in Balochistan and examined patients in tents, outside hospitals. Details suggest that the YDA resumed their protests after the failure of talks with the government. The doctors closed the OPDs following an unpleasant incident on 7th April when the administration baton-charged the doctors’ rally, leaving several doctors injured. President YDA Hafeez Mandokhail said that the doctors were compelled to go on strike against non-provision of the CT scan, MRI and other facilities in the hospitals. He added that on the assurance of the government, the strike was called off until 20th April but after the failure of talks, they resumed the strike despite two meetings with the chief minister on 16th and 21st April. He said that the ending of the strike is linked with the notification of the solution of the problems doctors have been facing for a long time.
