In need of protection: Inadequate security for Saidpur Village

ISLAMABAD: The centuries-old Saidpur Village, at the foot of the Margalla Hills, is a hub of tourists in the capital but its security arrangements are severely lacking.

Security concerns put many culture enthusiasts at bay, an informal survey by APP revealed.

A multistage project of Capital Development Authority (CDA), Saidpur is still technically incomplete as funds for the second phase of the project were never made available by the authority, an official said.

The CDA official added that the project was leased after completion of the first phase and those establishing businesses and entertainment spots at the village have made security arrangements by themselves.

But many of the people interviewed felt the security arrangements in place are inadequate and should be made more stringent.
