ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police arrested 718 proclaimed offenders in April, a police spokesperson said on Sunday. SSP (Operations) Sajid Kiani on Sunday chaired a meeting of all zonal SPs, sub-divisional police officers (SDPOs) and SHO to review police performance in arresting proclaimed offenders (POs). The SSP was informed that a total of 718 offenders had been arrested during the last month. Kiani directed the officers to further improve the performance and also arrest the remaining POs. The SSP also instructed police officers to trace and arrest the criminals involved in auto and motorcycle theft and burglaries. They were also directed to ensure strict security for schools, colleges, media houses and other important and vulnerable points. Kiani said SPs should personally monitor all security arrangements, examine patrolling and checkpoints in their jurisdiction.
