Drug trafficking: Two drug peddlers handed down life term

The court also ruled that both the convicts will pay a fine of Rs200,000 each

RAWALPINDI:


The anti-narcotic court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Saturday handed down life imprisonment to a man and a woman after they were found guilty of drug trafficking.


ATC special judge Chaudhry Anwar Ahmed Khan convicted 55-year-old Sajida Bibi, a resident of Faisalabad and 45-year-old Muhammad Riaz, a resident of Peshawar for carrying 17 kilograms of heroin in their car.


The court also ruled that both the convicts will pay a fine of Rs200,000 each, failing to pay it both will undergo two more years in jail.


ANF arrested the drug peddlers at Mullah Mansoor check post in Attock on February 25 last year.
