Planning Ahead: Preparing for Qalandar’s Urs

Thirty medical camps will also be set up in the town to provide treatment to the pilgrims

SEHWAN SHARIF:
Proper cleanliness will be ensured while more than 40 drinking water points will be established across Sehwan Sharif, which lies in Jamshoro district, as part of the preparations for the upcoming annual Urs [death anniversary] of saint Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, said Jamshoro deputy commissioner Munawar Ali Maher. He was presiding over a meeting on Friday to review arrangements for the Urs celebrations. Jamshoro SSP Sadiq Wilayat and other officials were also present at the meeting and presented a report regarding the arrangements. Maher told the media that showers will be established in eight different parts of the town to beat the heat. He added that strict security will be ensured during the Urs, which falls on Shaban 18, in the area and the town will be exempted from load-shedding. Thirty medical camps will also be set up in the town to provide treatment to the pilgrims, he added.
