A court bailiff recovered a boy from illegal police detention on Thursday. Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Khalil had ordered the court bailiff to recover the 16-year-old who had been detained by a police officer in the outhouse of a local landlord. According to the prosecution, Ghulam Dastgeer, a resident of Hussain Colony, said Urban Area SHO Akhtar Nawaz had picked up Asad, 16, earlier this week. He said Nawaz was demanding Rs100,000 to let Asad go.
The judge ordered the bailiff to produce the boy in court. He also directed the DPO to provide details of the case and produce Nawaz in court on Friday (today).
