IGP says Buner officers rose to challenge

PESHAWAR: IGP Nasir Khan Durrani awarded the Buner police for tracing and arresting those accused of being involved in the murder of Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Minority Affairs Sardar Soran Singh.

A press release issued on Wednesday stated the Buner police was called to the Central Police Office in the city. It was recognised for its swift efforts towards solving the case.

The IGP said the target killing of Singh was a national tragedy with far reaching effects. “It has become a test of the police.”

Durrani added Buner police rose to the occasion and the techniques adopted by them were professional, convincing and close to the heart.

Officials who were awarded with cash prizes and certificates included Buner Investigation SP Muhammad Arif; DSP Muhammad Naeem; SDPO Peer Baba Inspector Farmanullah; SHO Peer Baba Inspector Bakht Zameen and sub inspectors Khursheed Anwar, Mir Ghazan, Abdul Wakeel, Farrukh Sair, Sher Ali, Hussain Zada, Bakht Farin Shah and Usman Munir. ASI Anwar Saeed, HC Ali Hassan; and constables Asif Khan, Ghani Afsar, Bakht Amir, Abdul Jalil, Irfan, Falak Sher, Sher Wali, Noor, Malook and Mumtaz Rahim also received awards.
