KARACHI:

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is yet to find any substantial evidence for Umar Akmal’s alleged brawl in a theatre in Faisalabad during the ongoing Pakistan Cup.

Umar, along with fellow players Awais Zia, Bilawal Bhatti, Shahid Yousuf and Mohammad Nawaz, had gone to watch a theatre ‘show’ where Umar picked a fight and a raw footage of him being pushed into his car was flashed on television channels.

However, it has emerged there is insufficient evidence to prove his guilt. “Efforts have been made to check with the owner of the theatre if any mishap occurred, but he has maintained that nothing happened,” said a PCB official. “He hasn’t been given a clean chit, but is most likely to be cleared.”
