KARACHI:

Provincial health minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar expressed his displeasure over the shortage of various vaccines and directed health secretary Saeed Ahmed Magnejo to ensure the supply of vaccines to combat diseases, such as measles and hepatitis-B.

Presiding over a meeting on Wednesday at his office at the Sindh Assembly, Dahar directed Magnejo to resolve the problems of the health department employees and keep administrative matters on the right track. He asked him to post the additional development secretary and various doctors, who had been promoted to next grades, as soon as possible. He added that transfers and postings must be made on merit and under the directives of the Supreme Court. "Delay in posting officers is not only causing problems in disposing of administrative matters but medical services to the patients as well," he said.
