Quality check : Unhygienic food sellers taken to court

The administration has directed owners of the food outlets to ensure compliance with the hygiene rules and regulations

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration has submitted challans against 25 food outlets for selling unhygienic and substandard food, in the court. ICT teams, during the course of inspection, also confiscated 410 liters of adulterated milk. The teams conducted 239 inspection of food outlets during the last week and issued notices to 36 eateries for failing to comply with the food and hygiene laws. As many as 35 broken and unhygienic utensils were also confiscated. A total of 30 non-branded juice and 36 non-branded snacks were also confiscated during inspections. Inspectors collected 13 samples from various outlets and sent them to the laboratory for analysis. The administration has directed owners of the food outlets to ensure compliance with the hygiene rules and regulations and has warned of strict action against violators.
