The hospital administration told The Express Tribune 22-year-old Zeeshan, a resident of Bannu, was admitted in a critical condition on April 24, Sunday. He was reported to have symptoms of Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF).
The administration obtained Zeeshan’s blood samples and had sent them to National Institute of Health in Islamabad for further processing. However, officials said Zeeshan died at the facility before the hospital management could receive the lab results.

The administration resolved a dispute between family members of a patient and doctors after a scuffle broke out between them.
According to officials, a woman was admitted to the accident and emergency department in a critical condition on Monday night. Officials said relatives of the patient insisted that the doctor examine her even though he was attending to another patient.
“There are reports that the doctor told the patient’s relatives that he will [examine] her in a while,” an official said. “But they insisted the doctor examine her immediately as she was in critical condition.”
He added the patient’s relatives and a group of doctors exchanged harsh words and a scuffle broke out.
The official, who requested anonymity as he was not authorised to speak to the media, said the patient’s relatives called other family members and a brawl ensued between the patient’s relatives and Dr Farhan, Dr Ghaffar, Dr Rizwan and Dr Anwarul Haq.
He added the matter spiralled out of control and the police was informed.
