Minor girl raped, killed in Badin

HYDERABAD: A minor girl was raped and killed in the Badin district of Sindh on Monday with the police apprehending two suspects for the crime.

Police said they were informed about the two men travelling on a passenger bus while carrying a girl covered under a large piece of cloth. One of the suspects was even dressed like a woman.

“They were apparently trying to hide her from being watched by other passengers,” said Tando Ghulam Ali SHO Dhani Bux Marri said. The arrested suspects were later identified as Shahid Shaikh and Ghulam Hussain Shaikh.

The suspects confessed to sexually assaulting the minor girl, who later died of her injuries. The girl was aged between six and eight years.

The arrested men told the police they took the abducted girl to the rural town of Chambarh in Tando Allahyar, where they raped her. “When she did not stop crying afterwards, they took her to a hospital in Badin but she died on the way,” SHO Marri said, quoting the suspects.
