LAHORE:

Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff is more than willing to work in a Pakistani film and has even made up his mind to charge less, just so that he can give back to his Pakistani supporters.

This he said while addressing a video conference on Monday in Lahore, ahead of the release of his upcoming film Baaghi. His collaborator from Heropanti and also director of the new film, Sabbir Khan, was sitting alongside the actor who heartily expressed his love for Pakistani audiences.

“I am ready to work in a Pakistani film if a good opportunity comes my way. I will even give a 10% discount to the producers in this connection,” he said.“I know there are Pakistani viewers who have given me a lot of appreciation and this is my way of giving back to them.” He credits the success of his film debut, Heropanti, greatly to fans in Pakistan and promised that he will fly in to promote another of his upcoming movies, A Flying Jatt. “I can’t tell you how thankful I am. I will not only come to Pakistan for the film’s promotion but also meet my fans,” he said.

While declaring his father, Bollywood veteran Jackie Shroff as his inspiration, Tiger admitted that he knew little about acting before stepping in front of the camera.“Hrithik Roshan is my ideal. I follow his acting and especially the way he dances,” he said.

The release of Heropanti wherein he featured alongside fellow debutant Kriti Sanon, turned the tables for Tiger. “The film’s success gave me confidence and I really hope that I am able to deliver the same with Baaghi,” he said.

Talking about the upcoming film, Tiger said acting with childhood friend Shraddha Kapoor made things all the more easy. “She is the heroine of the film. Shraddha and I go back a long time ... to our school days. Her presence made things fun.” Heaping praises on his co-star, Tiger said Shraddha is a remarkable talent and has been excelling at performing arts since school. “She always won dance competitions in those days and she is still doing so well in films. I am lucky to hone my skills with her,” he added. Tiger is hopeful Baaghi will prove to be another milestone in his film career.

Also speaking on the occasion, Sabbir said Pakistani films are gaining a foothold in the region and cultivating a market of their own. Speaking highly of his lead actors, he said, “I had the opportunity to cast several other people but I selected Tiger for his talent and he really has proved himself in this film.” The director maintained Baaghi is a film that all kinds of audiences will enjoy. “I have tried to highlight social evils with all of my projects but this one is special in other aspects as well. The story, the music ... everything is beautiful about it.”

Shraddha could not make it to the conference. However, an audio message from her was played. Wherein she apologised for not attending the event due to sickness. She extended her love to Pakistani film viewers and urged them to see the upcoming film.

Baaghi is set to hit theatres on April 29.
