Following this comment, some users suggested Bieber was referring to himself. “I’m content to say that Prince has more talent in his little toe nail than Beiber will ever have,” one follower wrote on the platform. “Surely, Bieber doesn’t count himself in the pantheon of the last great living artists, does he?” said another user, while a third called his comment entirely laughable. “He is not even the best among his contemporaries ... let alone [him having] achieved legendary status and it is doubtful that he will ever reach there,” he added.
Prince was found dead at his Minnesota home on April 21. He rose to fame in the 1980s, with hit albums including 1999, Purple Rain and Sign O’ the Times.
