ABBOTTABAD/NOWSHERA:
A woman reportedly committed suicide in Havelian tehsil of Abbottabad.
An official of Havelian police told The Express Tribune on Friday, the deceased was identified as 28-year-old Lubna Bibi.
“She had been married to Rafaqat Ali for about seven years,” he said. “Her husband had been living in Saudi Arabia for the last three years and the couple has no children.”
According to the official, Lubna Bibi consumed poisonous substance after Maghrib prayers on Thursday evening and fell unconscious. She was rushed to a health centre and subsequently referred to Ayub Teaching Hospital (ATH).
“She died at 8pm. We are investigating the matter and are trying to ascertain why Lubna Bibi took such a drastic step,” he said.

According to the Cantonment police, 21-year-old Malik Kashif, a student who lived in Mohallah Usmania Upper Kehal, argued with his mother on Thursday morning. He went into his bedroom and after two hours when his mother realised he had been missing, she went to check on him. She found Kashif hanging from a ceiling fan. Police and doctors said he used a telephone cable.
