A division bench of the Peshawar High Court issued notices to the director general of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission, human resources director and investigation officer who conducted an enquiry against former minister for mines and mineral development department Ziaullah Afridi. The bench directed them to file replies to a petition seeking Ziaullah’s release on bail.
The bench comprising Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth and Justice Irshad Qaiser heard a petition filed on Thursday by Ziaullah through his lawyer Khushdil Khan.
Khushdil argued two officials – investigation officer Behram Khan and field operator Nawab Khan – conducted an enquiry against Ziaullah without any authority and did not fulfil any legal requirements during the course of the investigation.
