Waheed said she wanted to return to Pakistan and work in the education sector after completing her degree

A Pakistani student has been awarded the Falak Sufi Scholarship 2016 at the New York University (NYU). Shandana Waheed—who graduated from the Forman Christian College University (FCCU) in politics and history—said she was pursuing a master’s degree in near eastern studies at NYU’s Kevorkian Center. Waheed said she wanted to return to Pakistan and work in the education sector after completing her degree. She said the class divide prevalent across the sector impeded students from being successful.
