ISLAMABAD:

The last batch of Pakistanis stranded in China due to inclement weather and landslides will return home on Monday (today).

At least 45 Pakistanis were stranded in Tashekuergan after landslides blocked the Karakoram Highway (KKH) at several places. While 37 managed to return to Islamabad earlier on, seven will be returning from Urumqi at 8:55am via flight CZ6007 of Rayyan Air.

“With the assistance of the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing and the kind courtesies and support of the Chinese authorities in Kasghar, Urumqi and Beijing, the last batch of the stranded Pakistanis will be arriving in Pakistan (today),” Foreign ministry spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said in a press release issued on Sunday.

He also tweeted about the condition of Pakistanis in the earthquake affected Kumamoto Prefecture located 900-kilometres south of Tokyo.
