Madrassas are strong forts of Islam and “fingers being pointed at madrassas will be chopped off,” members of the Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam (F) said on Friday.
Liberal forces, they said, viewed everyone wearing turbans and bearing beards as terrorists.

These views were expressed by Chairman Council of the Islamic Ideology (CCI) Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani, Hafiz Ahmadullah, Maulana Wassey, former ministers Maulana Faizullah, Ainullah Shams and others during a conference on ‘Stability of Religious Seminaries’. They said that the indiscriminate operation against innocent people was tantamount to government-sponsored terrorism, adding that rulers were being used “in the war waged by global imperialist forces against seminaries”.

They said that tremendous successes of Islamic movements around the world had baffled the United States and its allies. According to them, the conference was being held in the wake of the prevailing situation in the country, and international forces were conspiring against religious seminaries and leaders of the country were playing along with them in return for monetary considerations.
