New students were welcomed by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Saiyid Nazir Ahmed, who offered suggestions to achieve academic excellence to students.
Registrar Shah Mahmood H Syed highlighted the university’s role in students’ lives and said, “SSUET is different because it not only teaches students, but also grooms them in order to produce successful members of society.” He urged students to commit to 3 goals while studying at SSUET: dedication to their studies in order to obtain a 3.0 GPA, a 100 per cent attendance record for all classes and respectable behaviour.
He reminded students that the university provides them with all required and reference books for their courses along with additional coaching facilities free of charge, and since SSUET works in collaboration with three American and five British universities, the students also have the advantage of receiving a foreign degree.
Speakers at the ceremony included Dean of Engineering Prof Dr S M Makhdoom, Dean of Basic and Applied Science Prof Dr Jawaid H Rizvi and Chairman Biomedical Engineering Department Prof Dr M A Haleem. PPI/PRESS RELEASE
