Women Inter-District Games: Team from Swat clinches first position

Provincial Sports Director General Rashida Ghaznavi was the chief guest on the occasion

Teams from Swat clinched the trophy at the Under-23 Women’s Inter-District Games on Wednesday after securing two gold, three silver and two bronze medals in various competitions.


This was stated in a handout issued by the sports department. According to the document, the games were played in various parts of Swat.

Provincial Sports Director General Rashida Ghaznavi was the chief guest on the occasion.

Teams from Swat won two gold medals in the shot put and discus throw competitions. They also earned three silver medals in javelin throw, a 100-metre race and a shot put competition. In addition, they secured two bronze medals and 50 points.

A team from Shangla clinched second position with two gold medals in a 100-metre race and shot put. It also bagged a silver medal in discus throw and secured 27 points.

A team from Upper Dir came in third after it managed to secure a silver and bronze medal and earned 13 points.

Shahana, a resident of Shangla, was declared the best athlete after she won two gold medals and a silver medal.
