Three of a family die in Khuzdar blast
No casualties were reported after the first blast
QUETTA:
A bomb blast in Khuzdar district of Balochistan killed three family members and left a child critically injured on Tuesday.
A homemade bomb went off about three kilometres away from Wadh Bazaar in the morning, police said. No casualties were reported, though.
About 90 minutes later, another bomb exploded about two kilometres away from the bazaar. The explosion hit a family of four travelling on a motorcycle, killing three members on the spot.
A man identified as Rasool Bakhsh, his wife and their six-year-old son were killed in the blast while a four-year-old girl was severely injured.
Police shifted the deceased and the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital, where the injured girl was said to be in a critical condition. Police have registered a case against unknown suspects.
For more than a decade now, militants have been attacking security forces and national installations in Balochistan, which has been plagued by an insurgency and growing sectarian killings.
On April 9, security forces had killed 34 terrorists after three days of fighting in the neighbouring Kalat district.
