RAWALPINDI:

Parks and Horticulture Authority has closed down Nawaz Sharif Park after police declared the park unsafe for public.

RPO Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja, who visited the park to inspect security measures, observed that it lacked standard security measures and ordered PHA to close the park. The RPO has also issued a show-cause notice to New Town SHO for failing to ensure security for the park.

PHA Director General Dr Abid Malik said the park would be reopened after ensuring the required security measures, which he said could take two to three days.
