The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has initiated a campaign against fake enrolment at its partner schools. According to a statement issued on Monday, the campaign has been started to stop fake enrolment at partner schools. “The purpose of the operation is to ensure that genuine and needy students benefit from the public-private partnership based programmes of free education,” the statement said. It said that the PEF officials had been visiting partner schools in various districts in the province to check the records and enrolment data of the schools. “It came to light during the inspections that payments were being received by some schools against fake enrolment,” the statement said. PEF Managing Director Tariq Mahmood has taken notice of the issue and ordered strict action against those responsible. “He has made it clear that no form of forgery will be tolerated and high standards of transparency will be ensured,” it said.
