QUETTA:

The city police claim to have recovered an abductee in a successful operation that left three kidnappers dead on Sunday. Two kidnappers were also arrested in the raid in the Khatam-e-Nabuwat Chowk neighbourhood.

“A student, named Aimal Khan, was kidnapped from Satellite Town two weeks ago, and the kidnappers had demanded $200,000 in ransom from the family,” DIG Syed Imtiaz Shah told a news conference in Quetta.

Aimal was the son of a local trader, Naik Muhammad, he added. “The kidnappers used an Afghanistan-registered cellphone SIM to call the family for ransom.”

According to DIG Shah, police traced the SIM to Khatam-e-Nabuwat Chowk of the city where two kidnappers, who he identified as Fareed Ahmed and Zubair Ahmed, were arrested.
