A three-day Sikh religious festival, Baisakhi, will be celebrated from April 12 at Gurdwara Punja Sahib Hassanabdal.
Talking to APP, at Gurdwara Punja Sahib, administrator, Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), Tanveer Hussain said that thousands of Sikhs including 3,000 from India, 500 from Gulf and European countries and around five thousand from rural Sind and FATA would participate in the religious festival.
He said that three-day event of Baisakhi festival is celebrated throughout
the world, but its celebrations in Pakistan had special importance for being the birthplace of Baba Guru Nanak, at Nankana Sahib near
Lahore and settlement of their last Guru, Govind Singh Maharaj, at Hassanabdal.
ETPB has finalised all arrangements for around 3,000 Sikh pilgrims expected in Hassanabdal for their participation in Baisakhi festival.
