KARACHI:

Jeay Sindh Mahaz chairperson Riaz Chandio staged on Saturday a sit-in in Gulshan-e-Maymar against the government's decision to evict 1,035 labour flats from the 2010 flood victims.

The Sindhi nationalist leader announced to lay siege in front of CM House on April 24 if the government did not take back its decision. "Electricity, gas and water supply of these flats have been suspended and government tends to start an operation to throw these people out," Chandio said.

In 2010, the Sindh government had provided shelter to these victims in labour flats promising to give them permanent places later on. The flood washed away all their belonging and they have nothing left, he said.
