Crippling virus: Child diagnosed with polio in Bannu

With the case in Bannu, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has four children diagnosed with the crippling virus this year

PESHAWAR: A child was diagnosed with polio in Bannu district, raising the total number of reported cases to eight in Pakistan in the first quarter of 2016. National Institute of Health Islamabad confirmed the new case from Bannu. With the case in Bannu, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has four children diagnosed with the crippling virus this year. Other polio cases in K-P include one each from Peshawar, Nowshera, and Hangu. According to NIH, the latest victim of the virus is 10-month-old Mudassar, son of Abdur Rahman and resident of Pirwali Shah Killa, Shamshi Khel union council, Bannu.
