Road accidents: Seven dead, 16 injured in DI Khan

A shepherd was killed when a speeding car ran him over in Kulachi Mur on DI Khan-Zhob Road

At least seven people died while 16 others were injured in separate road accidents across DI Khan district on Wednesday.


Four of a family died when two motorbikes collided and were then hit by a car on Chashma Road. The family was travelling on one of the motorbikes to Kalor Kot after a visit to a shrine in Bilot Sharif in DI Khan.


The deceased were identified as Muhamad Tariq, his wife, Hajra Bibi, their daughter, Kiran Bibi and Hajra Bibi’s mother, Zubaida Bibi.


Khwaja Moinuddin who was driving the car was injured. However, his mother, Captana Bibi, who was returning from Islamabad after undergoing a heart operation, went into a shock and frightened state after the incident. She passed away.


Separately, a shepherd identified as Sher Zaman Faqir was killed when a speeding car ran him over in Kulachi Mur on DI Khan-Zhob Road.


The driver, who was travelling from Quetta, lost control of the vehicle and ran Faqir over while he was grazing his cattle in the area. Although the car turned upside down, the driver remained unhurt. In another incident, a passenger coach travelling from Quetta collided with a flying coach in Mughal Kot in Frontier Region Darazinda, killing one passenger and injuring 15 others.
