LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) sought arguments on Friday on a question whether a woman suspected of killing her husband could be denied custody of her minor children. Justice Sardar Shamim Khan was hearing a petition by Khalida who had been arrested on charges of killing her husband. Her counsel said she had been released on bail but her in-laws were not handing her two children to her. A counsel for the children’s paternal aunt argued that the petitioner was a murder suspect and could not be given custody of the children on account of her criminal tendencies. Justice Khan directed both sides to come up with arguments on the matter. The hearing was adjourned until April 5. The children were also present in the court.
