Finally caught: SIU arrests two suspects in raid

The suspects have been booked in cases dating back to 2010

KARACHI: The Special Investigation Unit apprehended three suspects on Thursday for their alleged involvement in a number of robbery incidents. Abul Bashar, Azizullah and Anwar Hussain were arrested in a raid conducted in Machar Colony, said SIU SSP Farooq Awan in a statement, adding that two pistols and a shotgun were seized from the suspects. According to the SIU, the suspects were involved in street crimes, as well as in robbing houses and factories. The suspects have been booked in cases dating back to 2010. Azizullah was absconding in two cases pertaining to possessing illicit weapons registered at Korangi police station, while Bashar was also absconding in many cases of the same nature, including a robbery registered at Zaman Town and Korangi Industrial Area police stations, the statement said.
