Police directive: Carrying weapons in plainclothes banned

IG Khwaja has issued strict directives to all police officers to comply with the code of conduct

KARACHI: Sindh IG Allah Dino Khwaja has ordered that action be taken against those carrying arms in plainclothes, as well as vehicles with fake and fancy number plates. IG Khwaja has issued strict directives to all police officers to comply with the code of conduct and the laid down principles during execution of official responsibilities, said Sindh police spokesperson, adding that the IG further directed district police chiefs to start an aggressive crackdown against all such people carrying arms in plainclothes, ensuring a ban on the display of arms and vehicles with fake and fancy number plates. Earlier, the IG directed to all zonal DIGs and district SSPs to prepare a report on illegal appointments in the police department and take action if such appointments are found. He also directed that no officer ranking below sub-inspector will be posted as SHO.
