LAKKI MARWAT: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police on Tuesday arrested a local religious preacher for raping a student in the Bachkan Ahmadzai Village of Lakki Marwat District.

Shoaib*, 13, was allegedly raped on three occasions by the head of Madrassa Muhammadia Ghausia where he studied, police said while quoting the boy.

Madrassah teacher rapes 12-year-old

The teenager claimed that Maulana Saifullah asked him to collect water for ablution and upon taking a mug of water to his room, Shoaib* alleged he was raped. Further, the 13-year-old said the teacher warned him of dire consequences should he tell anyone about the incident which took place on March 27.

On March 28, the teenager managed to escape when Saifullah left the madrassa for some work. The boy then told his father about the incident, who took him to Tajori Police Station where an FIR against the teacher was filed under section 377-342.

Police later confirmed that Maulana Saifullah was picked up immediately following the teen's statements, however, confessed to raping the boy only once. Further investigation into the incident in underway.

On Sunday evening, an eight-year-old boy was raped in Peshawar.

The father of the victim lodged an FIR with Tehkal police, stating his eight-year-old son was whisked away by Ihsanullah and raped. The perpetrator later warned the child against telling anyone about the incident.  Upon returning home, the victim informed his parents about the incident. His father subsequently contacted the police and registered an FIR against the accused. “The suspect Ihsanullah, 25, has managed to escape with his family members as none of them were present in the house they had just rented. We are searching for him,” a police official said.
