Crackdown: 11 Uzbeks, suspected militant held in Quetta

Eleven Uzbeks and a local man linked to a banned outfit were rounded up on Monday as part of a crackdown launched by Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers and intelligence agencies’ personnel in different parts of Balochsitan.


According to the FC spokesman, in a joint search operation in Naushki, FC and intelligence agencies arrested 11 Uzbek nationals who had been living there without legal documents.



In another operation in Naushki, a man was arrested on suspicion of having links with a banned outfit.

Separately, during a search operation, FC troops recovered 5 kilograms of explosive material from Goth Hazaro area of Sui, but no one was arrested.

In Sadozai area of Loralai, poppy crops cultivated on 48 acres of land were destroyed by the security forces.
