Terrorism: LHC to take up plea on NAP

The petitioner said other law enforcement agencies, including Punjab Police, had failed to protect citizens

LAHORE: Justice Shahid Wahid of Lahore High Court (LHC) would take up on Tuesday (today) a petition seeking direction for the government to implement the National Action Plan against terrorism across the Punjab. Advocate Azhar Siddique filed the petition on Monday requesting the court to direct the provincial government and the federation of Pakistan to implement the NAP… by deploying Rangers in the Punjab. He said other law enforcement agencies, including Punjab Police, had failed to protect citizens. The petitioner requested the court to ask for details about deployment of police and other forces at Prime Minister’s House, Chief Minister’s House, Governor’s House and for the security of ministers.
