Over ‘honour’: Teenage girl shot dead by brother

A teenage girl was gunned down by her brother in a remote village of Palas tehsil in Kohistan on Sunday. According to Palas police, Kamran, son of Hussain Bacha, killed his sister. Pari Bibi, who was 15, was killed over the suspicion of being romantically involved with a boy from the same village. Her brother managed to flee from the village after reportedly killing his sister.

On March 24, a father shot dead his daughter for marrying the man of her choice and “bringing dishonour to the family” in Khanpur area of Haripur.


A brother critically injured his sister in Jaral village in Abbottabad on March 22 and later killed her over suspicion of being romantically involved with a boy from the same village. Their father, in a bid to protect his son, termed it suicide but the accused confessed to having committed the crime in “the name of honour” during interrogation.

On March 18, a man gunned down his brother’s 22-year-old wife and her 17-year-old sister for tainting the family’s reputation in Sherabad village in Mansehra.
