QUETTA: Balochistan Assembly on Saturday approved an adjournment motion to discuss the arrest of an Indian spy from Balochistan.

After the motion tabled by opposition leader Maulana Wasey was passed, Speaker Raheela Durrani allocated two hours for discussing the issue on Monday.

Pakistan summons Indian envoy over ‘RAW officer’ nabbed in Balochistan

Maulana Wasey, presenting the adjournment motion, said that the security forces arrested a serving officer of Indian Navy from Sarawan area of Balochistan which testifies to the fact that India had been fuelling terrorism in the province. He said the matter should be discussed in detail to highlight the repercussions of the Indian involvement in Balochistan.

“In the last 10 to 15 years, hundreds of thousands of people have been killed and many state installations have been destroyed. Political leaders have always pointed out Indian involvement, but the matter was never taken up effectively with India,” Wasey said.

“Afghanistan protests over each and every matter with Pakistan, and India never tires of linking Pakistan to every incident that occurs on its soil. The centre is not taking up the issue of arrested RAW agent with India in a forceful manner,” he added.

Wasey feared the spy’s arrest would end up like the Raymond Davis incident.
