Police and eyewitnesses said the landsliding was caused by heavy rains in remote Jabar Devli village, 45kms away from the district.
Three of the victims were buried by the huge mass of rocks and sand while others managed to escape, they added.

Earlier on Thursday, four labourers were killed in Maskeenabad, Nothia area in Peshawar when an under-construction house collapsed due to continued rains.
Similarly, last week, 24 people including four members of a family lost their lives in rain-related incidents in Muzaffarabad and Peshawar districts of the province.

Last month, the Pakistan Meteorological Department said snow and rain will continue, which may cause landslides in Malakand, Hazara Divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
It requested locals to take “necessary measures” to avoid loss of life and damage to property.
