The Kallar Syedan police have booked a bank branch manager for failing to put proper security in place at the bank. Rizwan Nazir, a police official, who was evaluating the security arrangement, found that the bank branch had not followed the requirements of the Punjab Security of Vulnerable Properties Establishment Ordinance, 2015.

According to the police official, only two security guards were on duty instead of the four guards required by the ordinance. The bank manager said they were officially sanctioned three security guards and all three were on duty when the police team evaluated the security arrangement.

Robbers looted Rs27 million from the bank branch of National Bank in the Rawat area a few days back and the police have come under intense pressure for failing to curb robberies and thefts.

Meanwhile, the same police booked four people for attacking a family. According to the complainant the injuries they sustained included a broken jaw and broken teeth.

He told the police that the attackers also dragged them out of their house. The police have registered a case but no arrests had been made till the filing of this report.
