The fourth International Hindko Conference will begin on March 26 and conclude on March 27 in Haripur. This was said by Naseem Awan, deputy convener of the initiative, at a news conference held on Thursday.
According to Awan, the Hindko conference has been organised by Hazara Hindko Board with the help of Gandhara Hindko Board (GHB). “Around 11 Hindko language books will be launched at the conference,” he said. “Research papers on a variety of topics, including Hindko culture, music, poetry and customs, will be presented by academics and writers from Hazara Division, Peshawar, US, UK, Canada and Srinagar.” A Hindko mushaira and folk music programme will also be held, he added.
Earlier in January, the convener had said it would be a two-day programme where Hindko poetry and prose work would be discussed on the first day. A mushaira will be organised in Hindko for the second day. According to the convener, a show depicting Hindko culture would also be a part of this event.
